Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT), Wellfleet, MA
About this project:
The WHAT theater building had been a long-time landmark on the harbor in Wellfleet, but lacked heat for year-round usage and had limited handicapped access and inadequate staging areas for large-scale theater productions. Because of the theater’s popularity for both artistic productions and community events, a theater expansion and construction project was undertaken. The result is a new 2-story, state-of-the-art theater that provides a 200-seat venue for theater productions, music and dance concerts, and other community events. The new theater building – which now links directly to the Wellfleet post office next door via an enclosed passageway – was recently completed in June of 2007.
