Pine Oaks Village III, Harwich, MA
About this project:
Pine Oaks Village III is part of a three-phase development of senior, affordable housing in Harwich Center, sponsored by both the Town of Harwich and the First Congregational Church and recognized by the New England Affordable Housing Management Association (NEAHMA) as the recipient of its Community of Quality-Exemplary Elderly Project Award in 2001. Like its predecessors, Pine Oaks Villages I and II, this development offers one-bedroom apartments for senior citizens over the age of 62 as well as the physically-challenged. When Phase III was constructed, the developers decided to include an innovative/alternative (I/A) wastewater treatment facility to provide enhanced performance over a more conventional septic system, to better protect the Cape's groundwater reserves.
Coastal Engineering's services included:
- Wastewater treatment plant design modifications
- Environmental permitting
- Construction inspections
- Wastewater treatment plant operation and maintenance.
