Public Access Facilities
About this project:
The Massachusetts Public Access Board (PAB) is the state agency that maintains public access to our many waterways, giving residents and visitors opportunities to enjoy fishing, canoeing, sailing, waterskiing, and recreational boating. Throughout the state, the boat ramps we use, the docks, and the floats at all public beaches are in good repair because of the PAB. To enhance some of these recreational facilities, such as in Plymouth Harbor, at Lake Quinsigmond in Shrewsbury, and along the Westport River, PAB expanded boat ramps, installed new storm drainage systems, redesigned parking lots, constructed protective stone revetments, and installed handicapped accessible docks and floats.
Coastal Engineering's services included:
- Structural design of boat ramps, docks, and floats
- Redesign of parking lot layouts and regrading
- Design of rock revetments and storm drainage systems
- Environmental permitting with town, county, and state regulatory authorities.
