Council on Aging Facility, Wellfleet, MA
About this project:
This Council on Aging senior center is a new multi-purpose community facility in picturesque Wellfleet on Cape Cod. The one-story wood frame building's structural engineering design consists of timber frame construction with pre-fabricated wood roof trusses and concrete slabs on grade. Sheer walls were utilized to resist lateral forces due to wind loading in this coastal area.
Coastal Engineering's services included:
- Structural design and plan preparation
- Construction inspections and oversight
- Civil and septic system design
- Public water supply development
- Environmental permitting.
